HP Photosmart eStation Printer with Removable Touchscreen, Web Browser & Widgets
Now you can print without need of a computer with the new HP Photosmart eStation Ai0. It is the world’s first printer with a full web browser that operates on a detachable 7" touchscreen. This removable touchscreen display also features Yahoo! integration (that includes Yahoo! Mail, Yahoo! Messenger, Yahoo! Search and Yahoo! Weather direct from the display), it comes with neat widgets and apps – including an RSS reader, an app for connecting to Facebook and Snapfish, as well support for efax.
HP has introduced a new range of printers that talk directly to mobile devices and can be accessed remotely. The launch of the new ePrint platform gives each device an email address, and allows documents to be emailed directly to the printer for immediate printing.
While citing examples of businesses producing presentations on site visits or of emailing pictures to relatives, HP also unveiled their top-of-the-range printer, the Photosmart eStation All-in-One, which features a Google Android based touchscreen that can also be used as an eReader. Another device, the Envy, is styled to look more like a fashionable hifi component than a traditional printer.
HP has also announced the first of a number of apps, which will be available this autumn on the Photosmart e-All-in-One range. These include programs from Reuters for printing news; Mappy for maps; Google Calendar and childrens brands such as Disney, Crayola and Dreamworks. UK exclusive apps currently include beforeIshop, which prints vouchers, and Culture24 to print info on events and exhibitions.
The printers will be released in October. The eStation Printer of-course also has ePrint and Print App support. The HP Photosmart eStation will retail for $399.

The touchscreen can work as an e-reader with full access to the Barnes & Nobles eBookstore, and it can also play back photos, videos and music. Plus, support for efax means that you can essentially use the device as a full featured fax, even if you don’t have a phone line. Although the new ePrint platform can’t print web pages, it handles most other formats and is aimed at remote workers, as well as people working away from their offices. A generic email address is assigned to each printer, but it can be changed by consumers after purchase.
