Augen Espresso Doppio: Android Tablet with Dual Boot for Ubuntu

Augen has announced six new tablets, including a one that dual-boot capabilities, with Android and Ubuntu. Two tablet series were announced namely the Latte and Espresso Series, with all devices powered by Google's Android 2.2 operating system. The Espresso Doppio leads the pack with Android Ubuntu operating systems and a 10.2-inch touch screen with a resolution of 1024×768. The device is powered by a 1GHz ARM Cortex-A9 CPU, while also providing a three-megapixel front-facing camera. They are set to an upgrade to Android 3.0 when it becomes available.
GENTOUCH Espresso Doppio, which comes with all the features that traditional laptops include, while sporting Dual Boot Android/Ubuntu OS. It comes with a dock that has a backlit keyboard, multitouch trackpad, and a 160GB hard drive.

 The specifications list of the device also includes a 1GHz processor, 512MB of RAM, a 3 megapixel DSC front facing camera for video calling, 3 axis accelerometer, and a multi-touch track pad. Other specs of the device include WiFi-802.11(a/b/g/n) connectivity, and a 2.5? SATA IDE HDD 160GB hard drive, in addition to 2 USB OTG/Ports. The slate comes with a MSRP of $599.99, the company announced. 


The Android-based tablets the company announced in the Latte series include GENTOUCH Latte, with a 7” Resistive Touch Screen (800 x 480 resolution), MSRP $199.99, and the GENTOUCH Latte Grande, also 7'', with a 800MHz CPU processor inside and a MSRP of $249.99 attached to it. As for the Espresso Series, other tablets there include the GENTOUCH Espresso and GENTOUCH Espresso Firma with 7” Multi-Touch Capacitive Screens, MSRP $349.99, 


The GENTOUCH Espresso Dolce, with a 10.2” Multi-Touch Capacitive Screen, and a MSRP of $429.99. The Espresso Dolce offers many of the same specifications but without the keyboard dock and dual-boot configuration. The basic espresso brings the screen size to 7.0 inches, with a resolution of 800×600, but without the processor from a 1GHz chip. The basic features of a 13-ounce latte-design and 7.0-inch display with 800×480 resolution, while 2GB of internal memory can be expanded with an SD card. The Latte Grande reserves the screen size, but with a resolution of 800×600. 


All of the new tablets are expected to start before the end of the year, as fixed by the high-end Doppio of $ 600. The Dolce brings the price to $ 429, while the entry-level espresso sold for $ 349th The Latte Grande Latte and are priced at $ 199 and 249 respectively.
