Windows XP SP3 Lite Netbook Edition of windows is slipstreamed with service pack 3, and is perfect for low powered laptops, old desktops and netbooks. It is only 185MB, and when tested it in Vmware, it took 11 mins to install. It uses 85Mb of ram on first bootup.
This also contains some basic things like games, paint, calculator etc. Obviously the upgrade feature has been removed from this cd, so you have to do a clean install.

SmartXplore just modify your windows shell and give your mouse middle click all new features. After installing SmartXplore you'll got many useful features such as managing files & folders by grouping them, fast browsing through different folders using bookmarks of your frequently used folder, create new files/folders, copy content to clipboard, remote FTP server upload, take screen shot and more other features.
The program support add-ons feature enabling user to add extra feature to SmartXplorer. You can download them from the program home page. All these add-ons are easy to understand and modify of you want any specific alteration to server your purpose.
By default, it comes with a sample hotkey function, which is written in three lines of code for opening Untitled – Windows Notepad file. To check that application is working fine, use Ctrl+Alt+N hotkey combination to bring up sample Notepad file.

The application stay in system tray and you can download new add-ons from there. You also have option to enable option to start with Windows logon. You can also add as many locations, applications, shortcuts, web links, etc., to its simple menu editor Notepad text file. To add your bookmarks or shortcuts just press middle mouse button on desktop or Windows explorer's title bar. It'll bring a new menu to add items.
