Nokia Announced C5-03 Symbian S60v5 Cheap SmartPhone
Nokia has launched the latest C5 device, an inexpensive touchscreen smartphone with a couple of neat features that may well pique your interest if you want a new device that’s simple to use but covers all of the essentials for modern-day phones. It's a Symbian^1 or S60 v5 touch phone with 5MP camera, Wi-Fi and GPS and it's really lightweight - it weighs only 93 grams.
The Nokia C5-03 runs Symbian^1, which is to say Symbian S60 5th edition. Anyway, it has a 3.2" nHD (360x640) resistive touchscreen and it measures 105.8 x 51.0 x 13.8 mm.
The new C5-03 flaunts a 5MP camera (fixed-focus) and comes with a 2GB microSD card in the box. Wi-Fi and GPS are on-board and of course Ovi Maps with free voice-guided navigation. For mobile connectivity, the Nokia C5-03 offers quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and tri-band 3G with HSDPA (10.2Mbps) and HSUPA (2Mbps).
The Nokia C5-03 has a 1000mAh battery, which promises impressive battery life - up to 25 days of standby, 11.5 hours of talk time and up to 35 hours of music playback (19.5 hours if you're using a Bluetooth headset).
The Nokia C5-03 allows for easy email set-up – either an existing webmail or POP3 provider through Nokia messaging. For business users, there’s also the option of Mail for Exchange. If that isn’t enough, you’ll also find a quick setup wizard for Ovi Mail for users either new to email or who want a different account for their mobile messaging. As you’d expect, there’s also access to Ovi Music and the Ovi Store so you can fill your device with fresh content on a daily basis. The two-tone colour scheme comes in both bold and restrained flavours.
The Nokia C5-03 will be available worldwide by the end of the year for around 170 euro (237 USD) before taxes and subsidies. It's odd that Nokia launches another Symbian^1 device, when it has already got Symbian ^3 up and running on three other phones, especially the Nokia C6-01, which is quite close to the C5-03 specs-wise. Also Nokia made complicated its model numbering scheme like this latest Nokia C5-03.
