Nokia Diagnostics 1.74 Available for Symbian S60 v5 Devices

Nokia released a new version of Nokia Diagnostics 1.74 mobile application for Nokia devices running under the Symbian S60 v5 platform. Nokia Diagnostics 1.74 offers lots of new enhancements and includes various new tests. This application help users take a look at more aspects of their devices. Nokia Diagnostics makes it easy to diagnose and troubleshoot phone by running various tests. The Symbian S60 v3 already have this application and now this application available for S60 5.0 devices and soon will release for Symbian^3 devices.


The new release was already tested on a number of devices based on S60 5.0, including Nokia N97, Nokia N97 mini, Nokia X6, and Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. Sami Halinen, Nokia Diagnostics team, Nokia Beta Labs said, “We’re happy to announce a major upgrade of the Nokia Diagnostics application for S60 5.0 devices. The new version contains more extensive set of tests to help you to figure out where the problem may be. New version also contains the advanced mode functionality for techie users and possibility to run all tests or all subcategory of tests. The look and feel has also been improved”.


At the same time the development team announced that they are set to enhance the application as much as possible, and not only on making it available on as many devices as possible, thus planning to discontinue to update the 3.2 version. The new Nokia Diagnostics 1.74 application allowed following tests Vibrating alert, Memory, Battery charger, Memory card, Cameras, Keypad, Screen, USB cable, Web browser, Network coverage, Data coverage, GPS, Earpiece, Microphone, Loudspeaker, and Headset.


“We do recommend you to check that your device is running the latest software before trying it out since some older device software versions can potentially cause undesirable behavior,” the development team notes. 
S60 3.2 version contains following tests:

• Earpiece test
S60 5.0 version contains following tests:

Compatibility and System Requirements:
Nokia Diagnostics works with S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 2 devices and S60 5th Edition devices like Nokia N97, Nokia N97 Mini, Nokia 5230, Nokia 5530, Nokia 5800, and Nokia X6. Please note that the app must be installed on C: drive.
