It sound great when you read title for a laptop for just Rs. 5000 or may be less. Yes its not a imagination but a real invention by two young innovators from Orissa. Both they have come up with this very unique concept for reducing the price below Rs. 5000. Its a laptop named iWebleaf with 10.2" screen and all other components you needs in a laptop.
Two young students named Chandrasekhar Panda and Saswat Swain comes with the idea of a laptop named iWebleaf with the following specifications:
~DXA 16 processor, same as Intel Atom N450 processor
~10.2 inches screen
~320GB Hard drive space
~1GB RAM
~in-built web camera
~Speaker
~LAN port
Report by Orissadiary.com, one of the students, Saswat said, ”We have tried out best possible option to reduce the price of the laptop even the processor is designed in the college lab itself named DXA 16 and its equivalent to Intel Atom N450 processor. Some parts like keyboard and inbuilt speaker are fabricated through the help of some MNC cos and it takes around 10 month to shape our idea into a reality.”
Other student Chandrasekhar said, ” iWEBLEAF laptop is designed and passed the CE certification process and we are working out to provide inbuilt Anti-Theft technology on the laptop itself by using the GSM technology so that the laptop can be tracked easily. He added currently no laptop in India is purely using Anti-theft technology where as we are working to make some modification on our laptop so that it can’t be boot if the SIM module is tampered or fabricated by any means.”
Not this idea is much better than one by Government of India's ambitious project “Sakshat” to provide cheap tablets running on Google Android Platform at a cost of $35, which they importing at higher costs and than providing at low cost after subsidies.
