Google Zeitgeist 2010 The List of Top Google Search in Year 2010

Google has unveiled their Zeitgeist 2010, a list of top search terms in year 2010. This list arrange accordingly the top search keywords, fastest rising query, fastest rising  peoples, Fastest-rising queries in consumer electronics etc. You can also browser list by different countries. This year Olympics, the World Cup, earthquakes, the oil spill, and Lady Gaga among others in top search terms. Of note in the top queries, the top iPhone 4 beat the Evo 4G, Twitter beat Facebook, and Chatroulette beat everyone. 

This year Twitter beat Facebook in fastest rising, but Facebook is far ahead of Twitter in terms of overall queries.
According to Google, "In the search team we talk a lot about that people are always looking for new things with Google. In fact, about 20% of our queries are new each day. For this year’s Zeitgeist, we’ve added interactive HTML5 data visualizations for the top queries and events from around the world. You can easily compare the popularity of the Olympics vs. the World Cup, see the world’s reaction to Haitian earthquake or the Gulf Oil Spill through the eyes of search trends. With these new visualizations, you can interact with, explore and obsess over search data just the way we do." 


In India while the IRCTC (railway ticket booking) continues to top the charts of the year-on-year fastest rising bracket, some of the newer interesting entries this year are the low cost smart phone maker Micromax Mobiles and YouTube Videos. As the FIFA World Cup grabbed the real world attention, netizens too showed the excitement catching them online. Amongst the most popular on the web – Songs, Facebook and Google remain the top three. Amongst the fastest rising people, Indians searched for British actress Aruna Shields and this year’s new Bollywood sensation, Sonakshi Sinha. Other favorites from Bollywood were Zarine Khan, Katrina Kaif; and amongst the men, Salman Khan ruled the web.
